I love baking! Whether it’s a batch of cookies, un-birthday cupcakes, or a delicious plate of fudge, I am always making something yummy! It took me a while to realize the importance of using good quality ingredients. I used to just buy the cheapest imitation vanilla I could find, but after making the same recipe with Nielsen-Massey vanilla, I will never go back!
Nielsen-Massey vanillas add so much flavor to otherwise bland recipes! The different types of vanilla (Mexican, Tahitian, Madagascar) all have distinct scents and unique flavors. One of my other favorite flavors is Almond. I substitute it for vanilla in several of my recipes…cookies, frosting and more! I am a huge fan of Nielsen-Massey products and love how my recipes taste so much better when I use their products!

1 – Tahitian Pure Vanilla Extract - A favorite of pastry chefs around the world, Tahitian vanilla features a floral, fruity, cherry-like flavor. - 3 3/4 Cups Powdered Sugar
- 2/3 Cup Cocoa Powder
- 1/4 tsp. Salt
- 1/4 Milk
- 2 tsp. Nielsen-Massey Vanilla
- 1/2 Cup Butter (One Cube)
- Dry Ingredients: Mix together with a wire whisk until well blended and uniform in color.
- Add milk and vanilla to dry ingredients and mix thoroughly with a wooden spoon.
- Cut butter into 4 pieces and place on top of chocolate mixture.
- Microwave for 2 minutes.
- Beat with wooden spoon until smooth and lump-free.
- Pour into 8X8 square pan and refrigerate for at least an hour.
- Use glass mixing bowl to heat evenly in microwave.
- Substitute vanilla for other Nielsen-Massey flavors like Peppermint Extract, Almond Extract, or Orange Extract for a delicious twist!
- Before refrigerating, try pouring over ice cream! Yum!!
- If mixture is grainy, keep mixing until smooth and creamy.
- Be sure to butter the bottom of the pan or put a piece of wax paper down.
